Restoring the Star: Factory-Fresh Hood Deep Clean for a 2016 C300

Maintaining a premium sedan like a white 2016 C300 4Matic is a passion, but years of road travel left the underside of the hood—specifically the paint near the latches and spring bumpers—coated in a thick, stubborn layer of engine grease and road grime. The restoration began with a thorough grime audit of the heavily impacted mechanical areas. Working on a sensitive white finish directly above an engine bay required a controlled and safe application. I chose WD-40 Big Blast for its powerful formula and wide-area spray nozzle, which allowed for efficient coverage. By applying the formula to high-pile microfiber cloth, I methodically detailed the hardware and surrounding paint. The formula penetrated years of baked-on residue, allowing me to safely lift the grease away without harsh scrubbing.
