Rust to Ride: Bicycle Chain Restoration with WD-40
I restored a rusty bicycle drivetrain using WD-40. The chain and gears were heavily rusted and difficult to move. I applied WD-40 to the moving parts, worked the chain and gears by hand, and cleaned away the buildup until the drivetrain moved smoothly again. This repair brought the bike back to usable condition and improved both its function and appearance.
Step 1: Before WD-40
The bicycle chain and gears were rusty, stiff, and difficult to move.
Step 2: Applying WD-40
I sprayed WD-40 on the rusty moving parts to loosen the grime and free the drivetrain.
Step 3: After Applying WD-40
After cleaning and working the parts, the drivetrain moved much more smoothly and looked much better.
