1985 Ford LTD Engine Restoration

When my 1985 Ford LTD Crown Victoria started leaking from the rear main seal last year, I knew it was finally time for an engine overhaul. Unfortunately, I had zero experience with this and have only been a hobbyist “mechanic” for 3 years. But it had to get done, and I couldn’t afford to pay someone to do it for me! So I rolled up my sleeves and got to work. WD-40 was key in helping me loosen all of the seized bolts and metal that had been rusted through for almost 40 years. Not only did it help lubricate stuck bolts but it also helped clean greasy engine parts and protected the new bolts from rusting/corroding in the future. It was a long 6-months process and I worked on the car every day. But now, we are finally back on the road and hopefully she’ll stay that way for another 40 years! I’ve documented the whole rebuild and the process of rebuilding my other project cars over on Instagram: @thepontiacproject. Thanks for your consideration! Hayley W.
