Clear As A Bell Headlights

Plus 2 more

I was tired of my vehicles dull and faded plastic lens headlights that wouldn’t project light as they once did. I wanted a way to restore my headlight lenses that wasn’t costly and complicated but was quick and easy. Problem solved by masking off each headlight with masking tape, spraying the headlight lens with WD40 and immediately wiping off excess overspray. Then to protect and seal the newly restored headlight lens it was followed up by applying headlight coating aerosol. *Please note as an experiment, the passenger side was done with WD40 while the drivers side with another penetrating oil spray product. The “clear” winner was the passenger side done with WD40.

Step 1: Headlight Restoration Made Easy

1 - Wash and thoroughly dry each headlight lens.
2 - Mask off each headlight with masking tape to protect paint finish. Needed for when applying the lens protection aerosol product.
3 - Spray on WD40 and immediately wipe off any excess product.
4 - To preserve lens clarity, apply lens protection aerosol product as per manufacturer instructions.
5 - Allow lens protection product to dry (usually around 5 minutes) then remove masking tape.
6 - Allow lens protection product to fully cure typically 24 hours.
