heat shield repair

My heat shield broke loose from one of its bolts (the hole in the shield where the bolt passed through wore too large). I needed something to use as a washer that would last in a wet and corrosive environment. I figured that a WD-40 can would hold up as it already has WD-40 on it. So that is what I used. I don't expect to win. Hopefully you found the humour in this. Seriously, I use WD-40 on a lot of projects: fixing the squeak in a rocker-recliner, lubricating a door hinge or drill bit, helping remove decals from a painted surfaces (motorcycle tank), freeing up rusted nuts and bolts, keeping moisture off electrical connections, etc. Thanks for a great product. The patch I made with that can is still working 3 years later.
