Rusty but Trustworthy

2004 TJ, factory equip with rust! Lots of WD products have been used on my on going project. Multiple WD penetrants which helped loosen up these stubborn torx bolts! The standard WD40 product being the most recent helper! There was a piece of rubber molding along the top of the windshield frame that was adhered with double sided tape. Some quick searching and it turns out original WD40 will break down double sided adhesive tape! I left the product to sit saturated on the weather stripping for a week… WD40 did not swell the seal which was a concern. WD40 was also used to clean up the lower windshield gasket as there was significant rust staining from the rotten window I replaced. That gasket cleaned up very well with the original formula. I cleaned up my surfaces with soap and water, reapplied the double sided tape and the windshield portion is done! Now onto the floor… I’ll need to pick up another can to cool off my spot weld cutters
