Rusty Sidecutters

Rusty pair of side cutters. Idea is to wire brush loose rust, then soak in a WD-40 bath for a few days. Then after a good soak take them out and put one side in the vice, stick a piece of pipe on second handle and work them till they loosen up.
Step 1: Wire brushing

                                                                    Getting rid of loose rust.
Step 2: Ready for a bath.

Into the bath they go.... I'll leave them over the weekend. Covering pan with a plastic bag to prevent WD-40 evaporation.
Step 3: Two days later

Side cutters have now soaked for 2 days.
Step 4: Time to break loose the rust.

Side cutters are now in the vice. After working them for a few minutes and intermittently dipping end in WD-40, they come to the point that they can be worked with one hand.
Step 5: Another successful save.

Another tool rescued from an early grave. WD-40 has proven itself up to the task yet again.
