Shower drain clogged/wife upset/husband to the rescue!

So we just moved to this house 5 months ago. A couple of days ago family members finished taking shower found the drain still holding water. I came home from work yesterday and got the news. Started working on it, got the little knob off after my first try with the vise grip. Didn't realize that was a sign. Tried taking off the second part from underneath with the little wrench, couldn't do it. Tried again from the top with the flathead screwdriver, couldn't do it. Called my son (although he doesn't have the man strength yet as he is only 17, he is almost there) for added strength together, still couldn't do it. Then I remembered WD40, grabbed it from the garage, out of my tool cabinet. Sprayed a heavy dose, waited a couple of minutes then my son and I tried again, couldn't do it. Sprayed a heavy dose again, waited five minutes, the two of us still couldn't do it. Sprayed a heavy dose again, and went for dinner. Left it overnight.
The next after breakfast I remembered seeing a WD40 challenge on YouTube about a month ago, read the rules and then went to start the challenge and finish the task. Tried by myself to see the strength of the WD40, and I screamed "I GOT IT." I was surprised with satisfaction while at the same time knowing full well it will work as in my previous experiences. WD40 is THE duct tape of the liquid world and I have first hand experiences. Thank you WD40 company and all.
